The 9-Day Cappadocia Mountain Biking Tour is a guided, supported cycling journey designed for experienced riders who want to explore Cappadocia’s landscapes beyond paved roads and tourist routes. Riding primarily on unsurfaced farm tracks, valley trails, and quiet backroads, the tour reveals a side of Cappadocia that is inaccessible by vehicle.
Over nine days, cyclists traverse fairy-chimney valleys, volcanic plateaus, vineyards, riverbeds, and high passes, while also visiting rock-cut churches, underground cities, caravanserais, and traditional villages. The program is carefully paced, combining challenging riding days with lighter stages and rest opportunities.
The tour is fully supported with professional MTB guides, a support vehicle, mechanics, and quality bikes, allowing riders to focus on the experience while maintaining safety and flexibility. This is not a race, but a serious riding experience that balances physical challenge with cultural depth.
Upon arrival at Kayseri or Nevşehir Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Ürgüp. In the evening, meet your guide and fellow riders for a welcome cocktail and a detailed briefing about the tour program. Dinner and overnight in Ürgüp.
Free time in the morning after breakfast to prepare the bikes, followed by a short meeting about the day’s ride. Today’s route follows Uzengi Stream toward Ortahisar. After a short village visit and lunch, ride back to Ürgüp through vineyards. Upon arrival, cycle up to Ürgüp Fortress for a panoramic view of the town. Dinner and overnight in Ürgüp.
After checking out, depart Ürgüp and cycle through Damsa Stream to Sarıhan Caravanserai, then continue along the Red River to Avanos. After lunch in Avanos, ride to Çavuşin, then follow the route along Love Valley with views over Cappadocia’s valleys, ending the day in Uçhisar. Dinner and overnight in Uçhisar.
After breakfast, cycle first to Kavak Village and then to Mazıköy, where picnic lunch boxes are provided. Continue riding through potato fields to Devretbaşı Village, then through a scenic valley to Başköy, finally reaching Soğanlı, one of Cappadocia’s earliest settlements. From Soğanlı, transfer back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Uçhisar.
After breakfast, transfer to Soğanlı, where today’s ride begins. Cycle to Derinkuyu via Orhanlı Village. Visit the Derinkuyu Underground City, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Continue cycling to Kömürcü Village via Kiledere and Yazıhöyük villages. Meet the support vehicle in Kömürcü and transfer to Güzelyurt. Dinner and overnight in Güzelyurt.
Today is a lighter day in Güzelyurt. Enjoy a casual bike ride around town. Advanced riders may choose a longer ride at their leisure. Alternatively, explore the town on foot, walk through Monastery Valley, visit cave churches, go fishing at a nearby lake, or relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Güzelyurt.
Cycle to Selime via Alanyurt. Enter Ihlara Canyon, riding to Belisırma for lunch. After lunch, continue biking or hiking through the second section of the canyon to Ihlara Village. For those who prefer to walk, bicycles can be transported by the support vehicle. After Ihlara, ride 35 km to Ulukışla, crossing Küçük Hasan Mountain via a mountain pass. The route includes a long uphill section of approximately 20 km, followed by a significant downhill. Meet the support vehicle in Ulukışla and transfer back to Ürgüp. Dinner and overnight in Ürgüp.
On the final riding day, cycle through Cappadocia’s most well-known landscapes. Ride through Pancarlık Valley to Ortahisar, then continue to Göreme Open-Air Museum to visit its rock-cut churches. Ride through Rose Valley to Çavuşin, continue to Paşabağ and Zelve, then pass through Devrent Valley before returning to Ürgüp. Dinner and overnight in Ürgüp.
After breakfast, transfer to Kayseri or Nevşehir Airport for departure.
